Violin Winners

With his rendition of Dvorak’s Violin Concerto and as only boy to compete, Ziyu He won first place at the Menuhin competition of 2016. Ziyu He is16 years old and hails from China. The prize money for the competition is £10,000 and the loaning of a Stradivarius violin for a year. The new Award for Outstanding Potential, the Audience Prize and second place were was won by 13-year-old Kevin Miura along with a second Stradivarius violin on loan. Yesong Sophie Lee, who is 12 years old, won the Junior final with a cash prize of £5000 and the loan of a violin made by Guarnieri Del Gesu.
