Wagner’s Production Loses Robin Ticciati to Injury

Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg will mourn the loss of its music director Robin Ticciati, as he withdraws from the position for the season due to a herniated disc surgery. Ticciati, who has worked and held a high position at Glyndebourne since 2014 expressed his disappointment at havint to withdraw from his chance to conduct a Wagner opera. He said he was looking forward to conduction David McVicar’s rendition of the play but the injury in February had led to his need to rest. However, he wishes the company and the crew the very best of luck for the production and stated that he would be back for the summer’s production of Much Ado About Nothing to commemorate the death anniversary of Shakespeare.
